Description
Enoki or ‘Enokitake’ mushroom kits are Australian made organic gourmet mushroom kits and they like it cold and are ideal for an outdoor winter grow.
Enoki mushrooms have bioactive polysaccharides, FVE protein, and ribosome-inactivating protein that can regulate the immune system and contain anti-allergy, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties, which protect and boost your immunity.
When grown under low light and in high CO2 environments, Enoki grow elongated white delicate stems and caps. When cultivated outdoors, Enoki appear very different demonstrating golden caps and firmer velvety stems that taper from gold to dark brown.
Whether you’re an experienced grower, or completely new to cultivating mushrooms at home, our all Aussie Mushroom Kits are a great way to cultivate, observe and fruit your all Australian mushie varieties and add them to your favourite food dishes. YUMMY!
Quite simply, Mushrooms need a combination of 3 things to grow:
1) Fresh Air – don’t put them in a closed space as they need to breathe
2) Humidity 80-95%
3) Optimal temperatures as below;
Pink oyster:
Great for Spring and Summer with a temperature range of between 20 to 30 Degrees.
Yellow Oyster, Tan Oyster, Reishi:
Great all-rounders with a temperature range of between 16 to 24 Degrees.
Lions Mane, Grey Oyster, Shiitake:
Great for Autumn with a temperature range of between 10 to 20 Degrees.
Enoki, Turkey Tail:
Great for Winter with a temperature range of between 5 to 14 Degrees.
If you want to get the most from your Mushroom kits keep them within the conditions that they like, and they will reward you with a big flush of mushrooms!
What you will need:
To begin with mushroom kits, you may need a propagation box, tent or large bucket or a 30-50L plastic container to create an ideal environment and a waterproof area for the mushroom kit to sit on.
You can grow your own mushrooms directly out of the ready to use box or provided a bed of vermiculite, waste/recycled products like coffee grounds, straw or even cardboard.
If you are not quite ready to begin your Enoki mushroom kit, place the kit in a cold fridge (1-5 degrees). Mushrooms can be kept in fridge for up to 8 weeks.
